I'm Yasmine - a Curly Hair Specialist, educator, and the founder of Yasmine Byfield Hair.
With over 10 years of professional experience and a lifelong personal journey with my own curls, I've made it my mission to share everything I know about textured hair with as many people as possible.
My Journey
I began hairdressing at 16, following in my mom's footsteps. I trained in Birmingham and Wolverhampton, qualifying with NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 in Hairdressing through Walsall College. I then began working self-employed in 2019.
My relationship with curls is personal - I grew up not knowing how to care for my own natural hair, and spent years figuring it out through trial, error, and a lot of determination. That experience is the foundation of everything I teach.

How I Can Help You
In 2023 I opened my own private studio salon in Wolverhampton, dedicated to textured hair of all types. I then relocated to a bigger studio salon in Walsall in 2025. Throughout my career working as a curly hair specialist, I have always had a focus on educating my clients and supporting curlies with their hair care routines.
I now focus my time on education - training hairdressers to work confidently with wavy, curly and coily hair through 1:1 coaching, group workshops, shadow days, and online education. I also work with haircare brands and stock a carefully chosen range of professional curly haircare products in my online shop.

Unfortunately there is no waiting list or cancellation list - appointments are made on a first come first served basis.
Existing clients can book online up to 3 months in advance, appointments are not available for those who haven’t booked in previously or for over 3 years.
Cancellations and rescheduled appointments occasionally become available, which will show up on the booking system.
It is recommended that you book the next available slot you can attend, then periodically check the booking system to see if there’s a sooner date you can reschedule your appointment to.

There’s no expectation for clients to arrive to their appointment with freshly washed hair - you’re welcome to attend as you are.
Ideally, I’d like to see your natural hair, but a photograph will work too.
Have a list of products that you use ready, as we’ll discuss current haircare routines during an appointment.
This is to see what your personal preferences are, and to see what would work best for your hair type.

Bookings require a non-refundable deposit of 25%. This will be taken upon booking via the online booking system.
Bookings are subject to a cancellation charge of 50% (including the deposit), which is applicable if cancelled less than 24 hours before the booking.
Bookings are also subject to a no-show charge of 100% (including the deposit).
Charges will need to be paid in full before making a new booking.
If you don’t wish to pay the charge, no future appointments will be offered and the deposit will be deducted.

If your hair has any sort of texture to it, isn’t naturally straight and you mostly opt to wear your hair natural, you’ll be able to book a Curly Cut.
Curly Cuts can be tailored to suit wearing your hair straight or curly, but this depends on the hair type and texture.

As of February 2024, colour services are unfortunately no longer offered in the salon. This decision was made to focus on cuts and styling, and to avoid using harsh and toxic chemicals in the salon. There are no plans for this to change in future.
